There were no shortage of Home Alone 2 or Eloise references from the moment we checked into the world-renowned Plaza Hotel, New York’s most exciting experience! In case you missed it, my last post shared more on the#SeekerProject, Le Club Accor Hotels‘ new quiz that chooses your destination for you. Our perfect match was The Plaza, and I am so excited to share our holiday weekend in Midtown with you.
We spent a great deal of time in The Plaza, primarily eating and snuggling. Our room was stunning, a real dream come true. We enjoyed lazy room service for supper and breakfast, and got such a kick out of the “Eloise” menu – ‘charge it please, mac ‘n cheese!’ was a favorite, as was the ‘Kevin Sundae.’ We also loved having the Todd English food hall right on the lower level (so great for kids!), and most importantly.. the spa. Nothing says special like a massage, and I had such a blissful treatment at the Guerlain Spa.
We also had the most memorable afternoon in the Palm Court, enjoying a proper tea – Eloise-themed for Riley Ann of course! Initially, I thought she may get antsy and start throwing teacups, but oh my gosh did she LOVE it. It took one bite of a scone for her to realize that her point was our command, and she devoured everything in sight with a giggle and a grin. It was the absolute sweetest, and I hope to make it an annual occasion.
Outside of The Plaza, all of Midtown was lit up and sparkling! We spent many hours meandering through Central Park, stopping to ice skate (HOW FUN! I forgot how fun this could be!), listen to musicians and sit for a caricature. Saturday was quite rainy, so we also snuck in a visit to MoMa and the basically vacant Rockefeller Center. Ralph’s coffee truck was a nice seasonal addition, and the best hot cocoa I have had!
