This October, we were lucky enough to visit the newly opened Hasbrouck House, a stunning property in the heart of the Hudson Valley.
When: October 2016
Where: Stone Ridge, NY
Stayed: Hasbrouck House

Our room was in the main house, and every detail was simple perfection. From the rich rugs to the creamy leathers to the clean marble and the touches of blue velvet, the design spoke to my personal aesthetic in every way. We loved how our bedroom was separate from the living room, as it provided two distinct spaces to spend time in and spread out. The bathroom was bright and white, connecting the two rooms, (and stocked with Kiehl’s)!
Hasbrouck House is home to Butterfield, where we ended up eating just about every meal. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area, but cozy nights in our hotel, followed by nightcaps around the fire, sounded pretty perfect to us.
Also on property is a wooded trail leading to the neighboring Stone Ridge Orchard. Makes for a beautiful morning walk, and a delicious destination!
Thanks to the field guide in our room, we found out about the Sheep & Wool Festival – which was wild. Emu contests, shearing tents, piggies, and every type of fair food imaginable. After the festival, we checked out Minnewaska State Park for a bit, taking the short walk to the falls.
My favorite part of the weekend was our afternoon at Westwind Orchard. So chill and laid back, with hanging fire pits, stacks of blankets, and some fantastic ciders. They have an outdoor pizza oven where they fire up the most delicious pies – I had the ‘Orchard’ (tre formaggio, raspberries, maple, pepper, apple), while Matty had the ‘Carne’ (pancetta, hot peppers, honey, mozzarella, heirlooms). While we waited for them to cook, we picked raspberries from the farm. Such a wonderful place! Next door to the Orchard is Arrowood Farms Brewery, another fun stop.
Sadly, I missed out on the fruity pebble soft serve at Cherrie’s Deli, but I will not make the same mistake next time! Two other casual stops we loved were Bodacious Bagels (classic, no frills, NY style bagels), and All That Java (delicious iced coffee and cubes). Also on our list were Benny’s Pizzeria and The Roost, which we did not have time to try.
On the way home, we stopped to pick pumpkins and apples: the perfect way to end the perfect fall weekend!
Until next time, Hasbrouck House!

It was so much fun, thank you for reading!
Looks like the perfect weekend get-away! I love the fall in the States, with pumpkins, fall flowers and apple cider everywhere 🙂 The hotel looks so comfy and cute and I would love to take a long shower with all these Kiehl’s products they have there 😀
