Earlier this week, Cam and I headed to Brooklyn for some summer fun with NYC & Company. As part of their #SeeYourCity initiative, inspiring people to experience New York like a local, we got to visit some incredible places with some incredible people! A huge, giant thank you to Caroline, who planned the amazing trip, kept us fed and on time, and who we already miss dearly!
When: August 2016
Where: Brooklyn, New York
Stayed: The William Vale
We stayed at the soon-to-be-open William Vale, a new luxury property right in Williamsburg. Standing in similar fashion to the Standard, they have also recreated a “mini-high line” of sorts, complete with public park and concessions – also soon to be open. The design was absolutely beautiful, and the views are unparalleled. They also have a gorgeous outdoor pool, which is pretty much the best amenity you could ask for! We ran into a few logistical issues due to the ongoing construction (forgivable), and some outright rudeness from some management (less forgivable), but hey… did I mention the outdoor pool?
In the morning, we all piled into a car to the colorful candy land that is Coney Island. What a day – pure summer joy! We ate our weight in Nathan’s (corn dogs are a woman’s best friend), and were joined by Brooklyn legend Marty Markowitz. We then went on some rides, ate some cotton candy, and all rode the Wonder Wheel together. So much fun, and such a neat check mark on the bucket list!
That evening, we feasted on Greek food over at MP Taverna. The sangria was delicious, too!
Until next time, New York!
