Springtime in Paris

This spring, Matty and I headed to France, with our first stop being Paris.

Fresh off the plane, we headed straight to Frenchie To Go. I may not let Matty sleep much on holiday, but I always make sure he’s well fed! After lunch, we made our way over to the Musée d’Orsay (where there was a vibrant exhibit by Henri Rousseau), and then wandered back along the left bank, just so happy to be here.

We stayed at Les Bains, in a bright, airy, beautiful room. The bar was perfect for a nightcap, and the club downstairs is supposed to be quite the good time. Unfortunately, it was closed for weddings / events while we were there, but something for next time.

Dinner our first night was at Le Dauphin. Beautiful marbled interior with the most delicious crab!

The next morning, we were up and at it to be first in line at the Louvre. Post art fix, we grabbed coffee and toast at the much-instagrammed Ob-La-Di, and then spent the whole day in my favorite neighborhood, Le Marais. Some places we loved: the Marché des Enfants Rouges; lunch at PNY; coffee from Boot Cafe, The Broken Arm and our favorite, Loustic; shopping at Sezane, Merci; juice from Season, flowers from Natcho, etc…

In the evening, we walked through the Place des Vosges and on to Rue Cremieux, a candy colored street! We then strolled along the “original high line” –  the Promenade Plantée – and back down to Dersou, for a 5 course tasting menu paired with cocktails. It was a phenomenal meal.

Our last full day began in the Canal Saint-Martin neighborhood, at Holybelly for brunch. Afterwards, we wandered through the Tuileries, Palais-Royale, and over to the Champ de Mars for a picnic under the Tour Eiffel. An afternoon spent sipping Sancerre, napping in the sun and lazing about – doesn’t get any better. The road home led us to Berthillion (for me) and La Paleteria (for him). Sweet ending to the sweetest day.

Dinner that evening was at the perfectly-designed Hero, with the most finger-licking good fried chicken bun in the world. Adored this spot!
