After Paris, we hopped on a train to Avignon, and rented a cute little red car right at the station. You know, to match all the fraises and poppies!
We had a three hour drive to our next destination, with plenty of time to pause and soak in the sights. First stop: the charming village of Gordes. Sitting pretty way up high, it was fun to wander the many paths carved into the hill, fresh fruit smoothies in hand.
When we stumbled upon Scaramouche in Céreste, it was a blissful surprise! We hadn’t found time to stop in Paris, so I was delighted to try this location. Two affogatos, with extra crème fouettée.
As we continued driving through the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, the lavender fields began to appear. While only green and not yet in bloom, they were still mesmerizing in their size, shape and symmetry.
