While in Casco Viejo, we were so excited to visit San Blas Islands for the day! Inhabited by the Kuna Indians, the San Blas Islands are a group of islands in the archipelago de San Blas, located in the northwest of Panama. The water was as clear as the Maldives, and the islands were tiny oases dotting the sea.

After a drive through the jungle, we arrived at a pier and hopped on our own little boat with Manakin Adventures. Our first stop was to the floating paradise below, where we swam and sunned and picnicked under a palm tree.
We headed to another island for lunch, where a Kuna family prepared us the most delicious fish I have ever eaten! Caught fresh, rubbed in coconut oil and grilled over the fire, it was unbelievable. We then wandered through the water, playing with crabs and ogling all of the starfish.
Our final stop was a natural pool in the middle of the ocean.
Until next time, San Blas!
